R&B Instrumentals – How To Make The Perfect Beat by Steve Orlanski
R&B instrumentals are the basic building blocks for many of today’s popular hip hop beats. The riffs seem to stay in your head for days. In fact, many tracks sample rnb beats which exposes new audiences to this soulful sound. Of course, there is profit to be made from R&B instrumentals. Just imagine the financial gain if your beat was part of the next hit record. However, there are obstacles to climbing to that level.
First, you will need to record a demo. That project can be daunting task due to the cost involved. Studio time is quite expensive. Then, there are the additional costs of finding and paying vocalists, musicians, and producers. However,there is a cost effective way to produce your own demo.
Consider using music making software which can be downloaded to your PC or MAC. To sound like a professional, you will need three basic modules – 16 bit sequencer, drum pads, and a 4 octave keyboard. Think of the sequencer as a musical canvas with which to build your demo. Make sure that the software includes an adjustable metronome. You should have the ability to adjust the volume of each track individually. The drum pads are the next vital component. They provide a general baseline for the track. Strings, woodwinds and piano chords can be added with the keyboard. The keyboard allows your cerative juices to really flow. Experiment with your R&B Instrumentals by changing the tempo of each instrument.
When you have completed your project, you must have the ability to export the music in the.wav format. Some software offers the option to export to MP3, which is actually a form of compression. So, your master will have already been compressed before it is even distributed. Look for a 44.1 – 16 bit stero format when exporting. This is the industry standard and produces studio-quality tracks.
Finally, you must distribute your work to radio stations, DJ’s and record industry professionals. The internet provides numerous outlets, so you can definitely get good exposure.
